Objective: Students will be prepared for the 3rd Class Engineer license exam or the 1st class Fireman exam to operate steam power plants. Upon completion of this course, students will receive a 30-hour Continuing Education Certificate for license renewal in Massachusetts. (Must already be in the profession to be eligible for this course)

3) Fuel and combustion
4) Burners and controls
5) Boiler construction, operation and maintenance
6) Steam traps and heating systems
7) Water treatment
8) Turbines, condensers and generators
9) National and local codes and regulations pertaining to boiler and pressure vessels.

Graduation Requirements: 70% passing grade and 90% attendance.
Course Contact Hours: 48 clock hours.
